It was a very enjoyable service at Soucy Park last Sunday (Aug. 9). The breeze kept the bugs down while the sun kept us warm. Jeff Jacobs led us in a few familiar songs, Kayla Jacobs had an amazing Kids Time lesson and Sam Hawkins shared a Communion meditation. Finally, Darrell was able to wrap everything up right at the 45 minute mark! People brought their own picnic lunches to enjoy afterwards.

August is almost over, September is just around the corner, and we’re looking forward to our annual Blessing of the Backpacks!
Why do we bless backpacks? The backpacks of students will contain their school work (and much more) to be carried from home to school and back again. As our students carry their backpacks, our prayer and hope is that they will remember that the love and care of God and our congregation surrounds them each school day.
